Busy Weekend

Considering I wasn't scheduled to work, I still had a hectic, busy weekend.

Saturday Cassie slept until 8am. She needed it since she's been fighting a cough and cold for the past several days. She and I cuddled on the couch and talked for half an hour, we sorted laundry, then, as Mark had already gotten his own breakfast, Cassie and I dressed and went to McDonald's.

After eating we went to Goodwill on Vine Street and bought two sweaters for me. Then we went to The Quilted Kitty quilt shop where I enrolled in the local Shop Hop.

By the time we returned home, it was time to change clothes to head to First-Plymouth to have our photo taken for the church directory. After that we stopped at the library so I could check on a couple of things, then Mark wanted to eat lunch at Panera Bread. Then we went to The Fort and Goodwill in south Lincoln seeking a denim jacket for me, but no luck.

Finally got back home by mid-afternoon where Mark took a nap, I did some work on the laptop on the couch, and Cassie sat on the opposite end of the couch and colored. By dinner time Mark was sprawled in front of the TV, so Cassie and I went to a friend's to drop off some boxes and headed to Culver's for supper. We ran into Brian and Claire and their kids, and sat in the adjacent booth catching up.

Cassie and I got home and while I was getting her ready for bed, she confessed that she'd taken a medal from Goodwill. It was gold with a colorful ribbon and she had earlier asked if I'd buy it for her. Apparently after I said no, she'd slipped it into her purse. So a trip to Goodwill was planned for Sunday.

Got her bathed, plugged in the vaporizer to ease her cough, she chose four books (Bark, George and I Lost My Bear both by Jules Feiffer, and Aunt Minnie McGranahan and Aunt Minnie and the Twister both by Mary Skillings Prigger), we said her prayer and she was asleep by 9pm.

Sunday morning Mark went to his part-time job; I got Cassie dressed and fed, took her to Sunday School, I ran an errand, picked Cassie up again, we went grocery shopping and by that time Goodwill had opened. I made Cassie apologize and we left the medal behind. Cassie bawled for the next hour, and was very concerned that I'd tell her kindergarten teacher about this.

I made lunch, put away some of the groceries, we ate, then Mark came home. He and Cassie napped while I met two friends at the south Wal-Mart to carpool to quilt group. This month we met at June's outside Bennet. We had Show and Tell of our latest projects, Wendy brought fabric to giveaway, and we discussed the upcoming quilt retreat.

I got home and did dishes, Mark made supper for Cassie and I made salmon salad. Cassie followed me all over the house and "helped" while I did four loads of laundry, folded towels and put them away, and changed her sheets. I got her bathed, read to (both Aunt Minnie books again) and to bed by 8:30!

Right away I jumped into the shower, did another load of laundry, and fell into bed with my new Flex Neck Reading Light and a book (Organizing Magic: 40 Days to a Well-Ordered Home and Life by Sandra Felton).

Where did my weekend go? (And most importantly, when will I tire of making links?)
