Kindergarten Has Begun

One month ago today Cassie started kindergarten (she attends all day). She is really enjoying both school and her After-School Program. She tells me her favorite part of school is lunch and recess. Each day I hear what she chose for lunch and what she thought of it, and what playground equipment she played on during recess. But at bedtime I get a more detailed version (anything to put off going to sleep). She's also informed Mark that he's picking her up too soon from the After-School Program.
The children are learning to write the alphabet and numbers and their name (which Cassie could already do). They are also learning to spell small words and can identify some punctuation marks. Our bedtime stories now take longer because she has to point out all the periods, exclamation points and question marks. They also have Art, PE and Computer Lab, and she's singing new songs around the house.
The only difficulty is going without a daily nap. She's also had her first blister that popped open because she loves playing on the monkey bars.
Parent-Teacher Conferences for her school are next month and I'm eager to attend.
